The Museum is proud to host International Archaeology Day in coordination with the Archaeological Institute of America Jacksonville Chapter!  Join us for a fun filled, educational day where children and adults can participate in mock digs and pottery making, visitors can have local artifacts identified by Dr. Ashley from UNF, master gardeners will discuss past and present plant life, and more!  At 12 p.m. listen to Charles R. Cobb from the Florida Museum of Natural History give a lecture on “Native American Travels and Travails in the Colonial Southeast”.  This lecture will take place in the Beaches Historic Chapel located inside the Beaches Museum History Park at 505 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL.

The 4H Club of Duval County, the Cowford Archaeological Research Society, Dr. Keith Ashley from UNF, and Lee McDonald with the Master Gardener’s program at UNF are participating with more to come!  For further information please contact Ali Klein at info@beachesmuseum.org or call 904-241-5657 ext. 101.
