Archaeology Day

October 19, 2024 - 10:00 am -2:00 pm

The Beaches Museum’s International Archaeology Day celebration will feature fun for the whole family.

Sensory sand bins with “artifacts” to find will delight the youngest aspiring archeologists, while older kids can chip away at our simulated dig site to excavate and investigate the past.

Real archeologists will be tabling at the event to share their knowledge and experience.

The Archaeological Institute of America – Jacksonville Society at UNF will present a lecture by USC’s Dr. Adam King titled “The Rise of Etowah: Creating Community, Place, and Identity.”  The lecture is free and open to the public.

Complimentary refreshments will be served.
