Springing the Blooms 2025

Please join Beaches Museum on Saturday, April 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the annual Springing the Blooms celebration. Throughout the Beaches Museum’s History Park and gardens, Springing the Blooms will feature horticultural exhibits, family-friendly activities, educational lectures, and live children’s music on the historic Foreman’s House front porch. During this event, the Beaches Train Club will run the Florida East Coast model train.

At 10:30 AM, Stephanie Means will present on Florida Friendly Landscapes: What you do in your landscape matters. From the fertilizers you apply to the water you use, your gardening choices can have an impact on land, water, wildlife, and the overall well-being of Florida’s residents. The Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program is here to help you learn how to have healthy and beautiful landscapes that protect Florida’s natural resources by following nine science-based principles.

At 11:45, Tonya Ashworth will present on The Edible Outdoors: Join UF/IFAS Extension Agent Tonya Ashworth to learn about edible plants that are all around us, often in unexpected places! You may discover that you can forage for food right in your backyard.
